What We Do
We take proven methodologies commonly found in companies that have had accelerated growth in lean environments (i.e. no unlimited checkbooks) and combine them with creative thinking to develop a tailored approach that will deliver on large scale transformation and growth initiatives . We are scientists who are also artists, mathematicians who are also philosophers, but we are not traditional consultants. We use lean start-up principles and focus on user-centered design to help companies scale and deliver quickly and effectively.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I consider working with your firm when I already have an established team / firm that I work with?
A: Today, successful business strategies can no longer rely on old and established techniques. In an age where the most popular jobs today did not even exist ten years ago, the industry is changing faster than learning can keep up. Instead, the best "project managers" are the resources who have started companies, failed, learned, and then succeeded. The knowledge learned through that process cannot be taught in a classroom or in an online course.
We are different because we don't synonymize the word success with delivery. Instead, is it a comprehensive approach of gaining scale while simultaneously increasing user adoption and customer satisfaction.
Q: Does your approach only work for startups?
A: Absolutely not. We work with companies in all stages of their lifecycle, regardless of size, industry, or sector. The techniques we use were first pioneered by some of the most successful startups of today (Facebook, Twitter, Uber, to name a few), so there is natural inclination to think that they will only work for younger companies, but that is not the case. What we do need is for your company to be nimble and agile. We use rapid experimentation with feedback loops, and need you to commit to working at our pace.
That said, we do not employ a one size fits all approach. What works for a pre-revenue start up will not necessarily work for a 100-year old company. We work closely with our clients to identify their growth objectives, and put together a program taking into account where they are in their lifecycle.
Q:What is "Acies?"
A: Acies [pr. A-sees] is dervied from the latin term "acies" [pr. AH-chee-ace] meaning sharpest of minds.
Q: Our company is based in a different city, and we have not budgeted for travel. Will this still work?
A: Yes, we work virtually with many of our clients. There are some advantages to having some initial sessions in person, but we can weigh the pros and cons together and make a decision.
